You raise an interesting point, that I haven’t noticed before. I also do the cocky-funny very well, I tend to have greatest success when I approach girls that are paired up and interrupt their conversation to buy them both a drink and then disappear for a while so they can start talking about me and feed off each other. Often times they will come to me and it is up to them to strike up the conversation, this gives me a sort of power over them since I’m not on the hook to use a pickup line. If they don’t approach me then after they are half way done their drinks I’ll show up again and be more aggressive with my game and as soon as the drinks bottom out, buy a couple more and move either to a more private section of the bar or the dance floor depending on their personalities. I like to play girls in pairs because it’s more challenging and the rewards are usually higher, you can either take off with both of them or introduce a wingman once they are sold into your personality.

Now what I hadn’t entirely noticed before is that the times when I am most successful with this maneuver no one else in the bar has the balls to say something to these girls that will take their minds off of me. Your typical bar stud will tend to be more physically aggressive to try and steal the attention, ie. approach me or get close with the girls. No serious threat since girls tend to find this as a turn off and more often then not end up mocking the dude. But if some guy has enough game to walk up to these girls and say something that will give them a dose of verbal shock therapy like “Hey baby, I remember you from the other night, I must’ve beaten off to you 15 times since then.” They aren’t even going to remember what I look like let alone getting these girls to leave with me…

Perhaps its time to rethink my game, it appears theres some serious room for improvement!

Not to sound gay, but was the guy good looking? I’m not a playa myself, but through my experiences, only guys who are average-looking can pull that off. If the guy is good looking, then usually girls would suspect something. Chicks tend to know when they’re getting played. Average looking guys have some sort of an advantage with hot chicks because these girls take their shields down and allow lines like “…I must’ve beaten off to you 15 times since then.” pass through.
Somewhat related, what is your opinion of the Juggler Method?

Steve you are completley correct in the failings of that approach. I pretty much came to the same conclusion the other night. As I said in my essay, however, you have got to play your own game.

For example if I were really interested in these girls, I could have shut the guy down pretty easily as he was a bit older with a cocky-funny comment like, “15 times? how many bottles of Viagra was that for you?”

Or, “15 times? How long has it been since you saw, her 3 months?”

Breyer - the guy was not great looking, very average, but so am I, and I tend to think it works just as you said. A guy who is average looking comes up to a hto chick and he’s confident, a really good looking guy is seen as ‘cocky’ in a bad way.

I’ll look into the juggler thing and get back to you.
